Author Bio – Stephanie Beene

Stephanie Beene is a licensed massage therapist, business leader, entrepreneur, and advocate for mental health awareness with more than 20 years of experience in wellness and over three decades of workforce experience across multiple industries.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has worked in healthcare, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, legal services, and leadership development. Her unique background has allowed her to witness firsthand the physical, emotional, and psychological impact that workplace stress, trauma, burnout, and life challenges have on everyday people.

As a wellness professional, she has worked alongside mental health providers, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, chiropractors, and thousands of clients seeking relief from both physical pain and emotional stress. These experiences inspired her to explore the deeper connection between trauma, resilience, and the human body's ability to adapt and heal.

Stephanie is the author of What the Body Carries: Trauma, Work, and Survival in the American Workforce, a book that examines the hidden effects of trauma in modern society and challenges organizations to place greater value on the people who drive their success.

She is also the founder of the Holistic Wellness Institute, dedicated to education, leadership development, workplace wellness, and mental health awareness, and a co-founder of Vile Style Clothing Co., a lifestyle apparel brand inspired by resilience, recovery, and the stories that shape us.

Her mission is simple: bridge the gap between productivity and humanity, encourage meaningful conversations around mental health, and remind people that healing begins when we acknowledge what we carry.

When she is not writing, leading teams, or building businesses, Stephanie continues her work helping others restore balance, resilience, and wellness through education, mentorship, and therapeutic care.

The Story Behind Vile Style Clothing Co.

Every brand has a story.

Vile Style Clothing Co. was born from the idea that some of life's greatest challenges create some of its strongest people.

For decades, we watched people carry invisible burdens—long work hours, broken systems, family struggles, financial hardship, grief, burnout, anxiety, and trauma. We watched people show up every day, put on a smile, and keep moving forward while carrying far more than anyone knew.

The word "Vile" represents the chaos, adversity, and difficult experiences that many of us encounter throughout life.

"Style" represents how we choose to carry ourselves despite those challenges.

Vile Style is not about glorifying trauma. It is about transforming it.

It is for the people who grew up with obstacles but refused to become defined by them.

It is for the workers, the dreamers, the single parents, the entrepreneurs, the survivors, and the people rebuilding their lives one day at a time.

Our designs are inspired by real stories, real struggles, and real resilience.

Every collection reflects the belief that what happened to you does not determine who you become.

We believe scars tell stories.

We believe healing deserves a voice.

We believe authenticity is more powerful than perfection.

Most importantly, we believe that even when life gets ugly, you can still create something beautiful.

Vile by Name. Built by Resilience.

Born Into Chaos. Worn With Intention.
